SYNOPSIS
Richard Sollos never wanted to be a police officer. He always dreamed of becoming an actor.
At fifty, when he finally decides to pursue that dream, a questionable police operation draws him into a public scandal that threatens to put him on trial.
During psychological treatment mandated by the authorities, he discovers a seemingly simple way out: asking for help from someone he has avoided for years.
TOO BIG FOR A SHORT FILM
Recognize began as the screenplay for a short film by Israel Mirenda.
But it called for more.
So it grew into a feature film.
It now has a complete scene-by-scene outline, and the first draft of the screenplay is nearing completion.

The distorted logic of Recognize’s world lies at the heart of the story: in both its particular rules and the way reality and fantasy coexist.
In this screenplay, I want to bring together the suspense of a police thriller and an underlying existential drama. Several storylines intertwine with the main plot, at times giving the film an ensemble quality.
