Israel Mirenda is a Uruguayan writer-director based in Montevideo.

His short film Quebranto (Broken, 2022), a suspense drama made over a single weekend, earned him the Best Director award at the 48 Hour Film Project in Punta del Este.

His metafictional comedy El Actor Errante (The Wandering Actor, 2023) won Best International Short Film at MARFEST (Argentina).

He is currently developing his first feature film, Reconocer (Recognize), a fantasy drama, and is seeking producers and international co-production partners.
