WHO I AM

I composed my first song
when I was a little child.
I wrote my first poem
in the sixth grade.
My first story
at the age of fourteen.
I sketched my earliest creations,
including some comics,
during my adolescence.
And one day, I gathered it all
to set it ablaze
on the floor of my home.
The flame burned brightly.
It left a black mark.
But not long after,
I returned.
To my poems, to my music,
to my stories, to my drawings.
And I always knew it:
I had to make films.
Because that’s what I am:
A FILMMAKER.
In any case, one who
didn’t have the fortune
to start early.
But that doesn’t mean
I’ll deny what I am.
